Emilia Blåsten
I am a mathematician, vTuber and hobbyist photographer. Welcome to my homepage. Please support the freedom of computing through the Free Software movement [FSF] and enjoy some of my past photography. I will start posting publicly to my channel @CursedEmilia in the first half of 2026.
As a mathematician, I have expertise in partial differential equations, inverse problems and scattering theory. I have been teaching large-scale university freshmen courses on introductory mathematics and statistics since 2019. I am interested in how modern media consumption can be leveraged for learning higher mathematics.
My research is about the behaviour of waves and what they can tell us about the environment where they propagate. An application of this that I worked on in Hong Kong during 2015–2018 is imaging water supply networks with sound waves. I am focused on the theoretical part of this research. I find it important that results in theory be brought to applications in engineering, and communicated to the general public.
